Early 1960’s Hidden Rivet Levi 501’s

Courtesy of the LVC store just off Carnaby St, London, here are a very valuable pair of 501’s. The standout feature being the hidden rivets which were stopped by Levi’s in 1966 and replaced with bartacks. Look closely and you can see where they have worn out the pockets in the corners. This pair can be dated post 1955 when up to this point the rear patches were made of leather, this pair is one of the first ones to have the cardboard like “jacron” patch that we are all familiar with today.

Hidden rivets in rear pocket and notice silver rivets commonly found in 60’s 501’s

The back of the red tab, double sided logo introduced in 1955

Top button stamp barely legible, can just see a “17” same as my 50’s type II Jacket.

Early copper hidden rivet stamped LS&CO SF

single stitched rear pockets.

Match pocket selvage line made from same roll of denim as the leg.

Redlines.
