Early 1970’s Third Edition “Big E” Levi’s Jacket
This original early 70’s pocketless type III jacket from Levis had somehow found itself on the half price rack at Beyond Retro on Brick Lane, London, at £32.50 after 12 weeks of rotting on the shop floor. An absolute steal, the manager was not happy!
Big E tab (pre 1971) naturally curling, a true sign of authenticity.
Single stitch, newer jackets will have two vertical lines of orange stitching here.
Finally, stamped 525. From what I have picked up 3 digit jackets stampings originate from the late 60’s transition period, the 5 meaning Made in USA and the other digits indicating a particular factory. I have also come across 524 and 526 on other type III jackets.
