US $213.50 - Really?!

“This was my father’s jacket. He’s the original owner. He gave it to me in 1991 when my parents moved into a different house and I have had it in a garment bag in my closet since then. According to my dad, who grew up in Oakland, CA, my grandparents took him across the bay to the Levi Strauss garment factory in San Francisco when he graduated high school in 1942. There was some sort of outlet store at the factory or nearby. He wore it some before he went off to WWII when he turned 18. I don’t recall him wearing it too many times when I was growing up.”
“It came with the trademark square leather badge on the inside below the collar, but my father hated the way it scratched the back of his neck and had my grandmother remove it after a week or so.”

Early 70’s Big E Type III jacket & Single Stitch Selvage 501’s

Had to share these super 1940’s 501 XX pictures from over at Goodbye Heart. Loving the character and never-ending leg twist on this pair! Check out the several 40s - 50s era repairs done to the denim!

Highlight from the up and coming Inspiration LA ’Vintage Auction’, Feb 2012.
Late 1930s to Early 1940s buckle back, jerky patch, crotch rivet etc. Super rare collaboration with the original A&F company in NYC, back when A&F were an outdoor sporting goods company, NOT the modern sexed up brand that exists today!
Interesting East/West coast collaboration going on here, would love to know some more info on this! Anyone?

Just found out that A&F were the first people to bring levis to the east coast, they also used to sew labels into other outsourced items of clothing such as duxback jackets. One of the earliest examples of branding??
